ROBERT PIETRI // FILMMAKER // ART DIRECTOR 
Robert Pietri (Director, Screenwriter) graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film Program, where he studied on 
a Dean’s fellowship. Since then he has directed a broad palette of short films including “Flight to Savannah”, winner of the Carl Lerner Award - Best Film of Social Significance 2007. Pietri has been awarded many grants and accolades for his work including the Fotokem Post-Production Award and acceptance into the Fox Searchlab, a development program for emerging writers/directors.

As well as writing and directing, Pietri has been working on other film and media related projects. His commercial clients include Pure Digital, Inc. and TORAY. In 2004, he was associate producer for “Conventioneers”, which debuted at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival and won the John Cassavettes award for best feature under 500K at the 2005 Independent Spirit Awards.

A first-generation American and native of Brooklyn, NY, Robert Pietri served in the United States Marines Corps. He went on to Carnegie Mellon where he earned a BFA in Communication Design with honors. Pietri worked in the elite design world (designing and art directing in Berlin, Los Angeles, and New York) before entering NYU. In addition to his filmmaking, Pietri teaches at NYU, the New York Conservatory For Dramatic Arts, and the New York Film Academy.
